The Best Natural Body Wash
I’ve waxed eloquent about my love of bar soaps, but don’t think that doesn’t mean I don’t love a good body wash. Nor does it mean that I don’t understand that we all have our preferences. So to keep us all happy and clean, here are the 3 brands that make the best natural body wash options!

Best Natural Body Wash
The reason I have 3 brands here, besides loving all 3, is that they each offer very different scent options (one unscented option). While essential oils are natural, people can have sensitivities to them, so be sure to pay attention to ingredient lists (as you always should). The scent variations also depend on personal preference with the Awaken Body Wash offering the most mild scent (besides the unscented) and the various scents of Nécessaire’s The Body Wash being the strongest experience in my opinion.
Innersense Body Care Review
First up is actually a new product from my beloved hair company – Innersense. Their newly released body care line includes a body scrub, body wash, body lotion, and body butter. You can read my Innersense hair products review here, but just know that I LOVE the brand and was ecstatic when I found out they were launching a body care line.
The body wash is lightly scented with meyer lemon, eucalyptus, and frankincense. The scent is very pleasant, not floral or fruity at all, but certainly on the gentler side of strength (like most of their products).
Nécessaire Review
Nécessaire is a clean body care brand that’s becoming quite well known!! I’ve enjoyed using their body washes and unscented lotion and you’ll never find me without one of their unscented hand creams – it’s the best natural hand cream for life on the go!
Nécessaire offers the only unscented option of all three brands and I understand a need and/or desire for unscented. I hate deodorant with scents, so I’m here for it and for you!
But they also have 4 other scents:
- Eucalyptus (moisturizing and hydrating body wash, this scent is best for dry skin. Scent is eucalyptus, fir, lavender, and ginger.)
- Hinoki (exfoliating body wash to smooth uneven skin. Scent is hinoki (woodsy and citrusy), basil, and vetiver.)
- Olibanum (brightening body wash to help improve skin uneven skin tone an support your skin’s protective barrier. Scent is frankincense, vanilla, cassis buds, and lily of the valley.)
- Santal (a calming body wash for depleted skin. Scent is sandalwood, iris, black pepper, and suede.)
I haven’t tried all four of these scents, but I find the brand in general to be good for men and women with a relaxing, spa-like experience.

Esker Beauty Review
I’ve been a long time fan of Esker products – I can’t imagine life without my body plane. I use it 2-3x per week in the shower with body oil to help remove skin and keep my legs soft!
But before the brand got into body tools, it was body washes and body oils – 3 scents each of which I adore. While these scents aren’t quite a strong as the Nécessaire scents, the scents themselves are definitely grounded and earthy – not your typical smells…and I LOVE them.
